According to MSNBC.com a Mark Rothko painting set the record price for a post-war art piece at $72.8 million. I believe that is a extremely large amount of money to pay for anything, especially a piece of art. After seeing the piece I truly thought that anybody with any level of artictic ability could paint a better picture if they watned to. I am sure there is a story behind this piece of art but the MSNBC article did not mention any.
